Introduction

I'm a 38-year old mamma that went back to school after having children to finish my degree. Crazy I know but you do what you have to do.  I've taught elementary school for three years now.  I started in 3rd grade but was moved to 4th grade the next year, which I have taught for two years.  I love teaching 4th grade but today I was asked by my principal to move back to 3rd grade as team leader.  I don't know how your principals are, but it wasn't so much asking as it was telling.  So I'm leaving my adorable classroom and curriculum to head back to 3rd grade.  But I refuse to be a complainer.  I once enjoyed teaching 3rd grade and I'll learn to enjoy it once again.

I've decided to start this blog as a place to reflect upon my thoughts, feelings, and have a platform for ideas and inventions.  Teaching has taught me that the learning process is the most abstract thing out there!  What works for one child does not mean it will work for the next 20.  I'm just so grateful to teach in an era where sharing ideas is so easily done.  I get my best lessons from Pinterest and Teachers Pay Teachers.  I definitely do my fair share of taking, so I want to start sharing more.

I teach in western Utah in a small town that is known for oil and dinosaurs.  I've lived in Vernal for most of my life and now I'm raising my own three children here too.  I love to read, craft, and teach.

I'm wrapping up my third year of teaching this week, as Friday is our last day.  I find it funny how the school year can drag so slowly in the winter months and then May comes and I'm all like wow! that went incredibly fast.

So that's my first post.  I hope to inspire and motivate you as many have done for me.  Good luck with the rest of your school year.
